How does your service work? You send your flash memory card to our lab. We recover the files that are damaged or deleted and send you back the restored files via CD or email. How much does it cost? Prices start at $49 for an 8Mb card. There is no charge for evaluation. Priority mail return shipping is free with any recovered item. How long does it take? Most files from cards can be recovered within 24 to 48 hours from the time they are received. Occasionally, more difficult recoveries can take 3-5 business days. There is no additional charge for more difficult recoveries. What cards do you recover? All the popular flash memory card form factors including CompactFlash, SmartMedia, Secure Digital, Memory Stick, Microdrive, MultiMediaCard, and the latest xD Picture Card. Do you only recover damaged memory cards only from digital cameras? Apollo One Data Recovery can recover memory cards from all types of digital image recording devices including Digital Cameras, PDAs, Camcorders, and others. We ask you in our Service Request Form for the device type and manufacturer, because they often use different card headers and even non-standard file formats. The better informed we are about your application, the higher the probability of recovery. What kinds of card problems do you recover? Corrupted files, deletedimages, bad or incorrect card format. Anything having to do with file or format integrity. What is the success rate? Generally, over 90% of files can be recovered. Accidentally deleted files or quick erase formats are no problem. Full zeroing formats that overwrite the data are not recoverable by any means. Can I recover the deleted/damaged files myself? It may be possible however you can also create more problems by doing so. Popular recovery programs such as Norton's Unerase or the CHKDSK utility can write incorrect file descriptors to the card and cause the actual data content to become garbled. This makes a secondary recovery process more difficult or impossible. Should I do anything before sending you my damaged card? As soon as the card becomes unusable, or if you have deleted files you want to recover, don't do anything further to the card. Do not attempt to format, or write additional files or pictures to the card. Package the card carefully in a well padded envelope or box, complete the Service Request Form and send the card to Apollo One Data Recovery. Where do I send the card? Send the card via Mail or Courier Service (FedEx, UPS, etc) to our labs at: Apollo One, 6546 N Milwaukee Ave, Suite B, Chicago, IL 60631. Our lab will make an initial assessment and notify you via email of the results. Do you do anything to the card before it is returned? We do not modify or format the card in any way unless you previously authorize us. Our recovery process is non-destructive and does not require writing to the card. Recovered files are extracted and sent to you via CD or email. Can I reuse the damaged card once it is returned? Yes, in most cases. Follow the manufacturer's recommendation for formatting the card in the original device. If that fails, try formatting the card in one of the popular card readers. Is my memory card safe going through airport X-Ray screening? Yes. We know of no instances where memory cards have been damaged after exposure to standard X-Ray scanners at airports. Should I buy a reader for my memory card? A memory card reader offers many conveniences. By leaving the reader hooked up to your computer, you can quickly and easily download pictures without having to tie up your camera. We highly recommend one.
